YIVO does not own copyright to most of the historical documents and photographs posted at this website. It is the responsibility of the user to carry out a due diligence search under U.S. copyright laws to determine the copyright status of any items displayed at this website. As a first step in carrying a due diligence search, users wishing to publish in any form any copyrighted images or texts appearing in the Search Collections and Search Photo Gallery and other portions of this website are required to contact the appropriate holding agency (92nd St Y, Educational Alliance, F-E-G-S Health and Human Services System, Surprise Lake Camp and YIVO) whose images the user wishes to use.
